The LANGUAGE of SUCCESS

Quotes and Video from Roger Hamilton

Speak in Terms of Opportunity Rather Than Requests

“…the language of requests is something that entrepreneur should avoid at all costs.”

“By speaking in requests, you draw attention to what you don’t have… the markets don’t want to know what you don’t have, mentors don’t want to know what you don’t have, even financiers they are not really bothered by what you don’t have; they want to know what you have.”

THE SECRET OF BUSINESS COMMUNICATION

I wasn’t able to put my finger on the communication differences between successful entreprenuers and… say… me.

I assumed the difference was in the form of some huge cravass of unfathomable length, depth and breadth.

BUT… HERE was the REAL answer - I always make REQUESTS. No longer. I will present true and valuable OPPORTUNITIES. I have learned the power of helping YOU.

Thanks, Roger Hamilton. Ahem… May I kindly offer you an opportunity to provide me an autograph?

My Great Discovery

All right folks, this is going to sound stupid. But…

I always wondered why humans have such big legs in comparison to other animals with much bigger bodies. Even horses have much skinnier, littler legs than us. We are true, thunderthighs and cavalcade thighs.

Yesterday, it came to me in a flash.I was standing in the bathroom looking at my feet. They were these TWO tiny little appendages that balanced and supported this funny body of mine.

It’s like balancing a stick figure on two grains of rice for feet.

BAM!

WE NEED OUR BIG LEGS TO CONSTANTLY BALANCE OUR BODIES THAT SIT ON OUR TWO GRAIN OF RICE FOR FEET.

It takes ALL that musculature to keep us upright without swaying and tilting and flopping over.

HAD we had BIG lovely, waddling duck feet, THEN we could have had chopsticks for legs.

Capiche???

I feel like a brilliant genius.

~~~
What is the LESSON of all this?
It’s a tale of Life… and Limb.
It’s amazing how two little grains of rice feet can support and balance a whole big body. And by the way - take a look at a 1 year old. Talk about little bitty feet and a big round body.
Folks, there’s method to the madness.
LESSON: Adapt. IF you’ve been given two tiny grains of rice for feet, compensate. Grow some BIG, HONKIN’, Legs.
Facebook and MySpace
No one I know uses Facebook or MySpace. Maybe that’s because I only know business oriented people or young guyals who stick to highly focussed forums and groups.
Facebook and MySpace have always been TTGTFF - a “Thanksgiving Turkey Get Together with Friends and Family” place. (You know… you drop in, share polite hugs and kisses, chit chat, eat tasty treats and wish you were surfing at the beach or playing Half Life 2.)
Or, Facebook is where you find compromising pics of silly drunken friends. (And latest dating disasters) Or Aunt Milly’s new recipe for Cucumber Pudding. Yummm! : )
But… they SAY Facebook has 200 million million or so, a marketing prospector’s dream.
So… wouldn’t it stand to reason that joining up would be good for business?
Not to me. Reason: the moment Aunt Kitty tries to sell me her Shaklee or some old school bud sends me an affiliate link, I’m gone. Nothing personal.
It’s just doesn’t sit well to be marketed to at my Thanksgiving table.
So, if I don’t want to be sold to on Facebook, I’m figuring you wouldn’ either.
Perhaps I’m totally wrong…
What do YOU think?
~~~

Oh - AUNT KITTY - If you start making a million dollars, then I will be ur Facebook BFF.
