Corporate vs. Real Site

At one time, “corporate” styled websites garnered respect. Visiting potential clients were reassured by the cold, clean, shiny, nebulous exterior. It’s about image, not communication.

Personally, cold and obscure corporate sites resonate with me. I actually like the vacant, distant politeness. Prim. Cool. Reserved. Sort of an ice prince thing. “Go ahead… look, but no touch.”

When you’re a kid looking up, that’s as you would expect elders to be.

There’s an entire generation that still subscribes to “corporate.”

But these days, it’s all about REAL. SIMPLE. BASIC. OPEN.

Corporate is passe…

That is, until people tire of the status quo.  And will they? Why, they always do. People change. And change back again.

All things in waves.

LESSON to SELF: Nothing is permanent. Things come and go and come back again in waves. Float with, or be washed ashore.

For now, it’s all about REAL. SIMPLE. BASIC. OPEN. And I think I like that better.
