Big Fat SCAM Secret (Real)
Jul 11
Google just posted article “How to Steer Clear of Online Scams.” Nice little article.
Logical stuff. Like, if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is.” Hmmm. Never heard that one before.
But the biggest no no: Going Phishing. They lure you to a fake bank site - you enter your username and password and they empty your bank account.
BIG FAT SECRET: If you put a SPACE after the DOMAIN NAME ADDRESS in the ADDRESS BAR (the space where the domain name usually is, WAAAY at the top), you’ll REALLY go to the address it SAYS.
Otherwise you could think you’re going to http://BankofGoodness.com which ACTUALLY wil take you to http://HiyaSucker.com.
WIERD? Yeah. So PUT THAT SPACE after the address if you’re even remotely concerned about any link that was in an email or search engine results.
