Christian the Lion

Updated: The Latest News, Videos and Links About Christian the Lion
Note: Some have claimed that the story of Christian is fake. Most assuredly it is not fake. Christian was very real. Below is a collection of videos and information to prove otherwise. John Rendall, one of Christian’s previous “owners” in Great Britain is now a trustee of George Adamson’s Wildlife Foundation in Africa. John is dedicated to the preservation of the African Lion, a majestic animal of tremendous intelligence with the ability to form life long, loving relationships with humans, as well as all magnificent African wildlife. Tony Fitzjohn now heads the Trust.

Christian Grows Up to Be a Big, Noble Lion – Video

(No sound) Video of Christian the Lion and his two friends reunite for the second and final meeting in Africa.

Christian had grown immensely, becoming one of the largest lions in Africa, as George Adamson put it. This video is the last film of his meeting with Anthony and John.

The very first part of the second meeting was not filmed because Christian surprised them by showing up during dinnertime. It was an unforgettable meeting.

Evidently, Christian was so overjoyed to see his old friends that he tried repeatedly to jump into their laps, leaping onto the table, even knocking George Adamson over with his great exuberance, excitement and love.

Older Original Post:

Below: The first video is the original Christian the Lion music video, in case you haven’t seen it. It’s awe inspiring, maybe life changing.

The second video below it is the NEW Real Ending from the Born Free Foundation. (you might have to turn down volume on second video)

Hippo Saves Gazelle

Amazing…

A valiant and courageous hippopotamus actually attempts to protect
and then, save the life of a very young impala gazelle.

After bringing the fawn to shore, the hippo very gently tries to revive
and comfort the little antelope by carefully and tenderly taking its head
into its mouth.

The video below is the clearest resolution I could find. The sound
may be high – you might want to turn down your volume a tad.

It’s an extraordinary video. One person who contributed said it very
well: “One of the saddest stories ever told…”

And yet, you may very well be deeply warmed by watching the
hippo’s magnificent courage and loving actions.

This video is seemingly unbelievable, until you watch for yourself.

Here’s another link to another version of the video:

The hippo and croc live within an uneasy truce. hippos are one of
the most powerful creatures on earth and are capable of biting a
croc in half. Nevertheless, the croc will not hesitate to hunt baby
hippopotamuses.

Here’s another very sad video of a baby hippo being taken by a
crocodile. The mother soon appears to lick and then mourn the
loss of her baby. She raises her head and opens her mouth wide
as if in a silent scream. Devastating.

Notice that the another large hippo is at her side – perhaps the
father.

Last Chance Save Mankind

Why, this fellow makes doom and gloom positively uproarious.
Maybe because he’s so starkly assured in a goat-headed
disarming kind of way. And his terminology is… independent.
Free thinking free wheeling.

James Lovelock is a spritely fellow with a jaunty opinion
you can’t quite ignore…

New Scientist’s Gaia Vince:
“Your work on atmospheric chlorofluorocarbons led
eventually to a
global CFC ban that saved us from
ozone-layer depletion. Do we have time to do a similar
thing with carbon emissions to save ourselves from
climate change?”

James Lovelock:
“Not a hope in hell. Most of the “green” stuff is verging
on a gigantic scam.
Carbon trading, with its huge
government subsidies, is just what finance and industry
wanted. It’s not going to do a damn thing about climate
change, but it’ll make a lot of money for a lot of people
and postpone the moment of reckoning. I am not against
renewable energy, but to spoil all the decent countryside
in the UK with wind farms is driving me mad. It’s absolutely
unnecessary, and it takes 2500 square kilometres to produce
a gigawatt – that’s an awful lot of countryside…”
