I remember long ago hearing a psychologist say that animals do not have any feelings. It seems he was actually referring just to himself… or to animals made of wood. Below: true, adoring and magnificent love between two species. No feelings? Sigh.

Stunning – this little dog “pulls” another injured dog from the freeway with his paws. He didn’t want to use his teeth…
This incident occurred in Chile in March of 2008. The video came out online in December 2008.
Update: The little dog that is lying on the freeway was first reported to have lived. Unfortunately, he did not make it. The other little dog that attempted to save the first dog ran off and still has not been found. Say a prayer for this little fellow…
People did try to find him or her… with no luck. However, this story has touched the hearts of so many.
One can clearly see that this little street dog that has no home, still had the heart of champions, and of gold. A fur hero of the noblest sort. We cannot imagine that a little dog would go to such great lengths to save another and put himself at such risk.
You can see that he looked around at the cars, and was fully aware of the danger.
Chile reported that there are many, many homeless dogs and this will continue until the problem of abandonment and neglect is solved.
This still leaves us with, “Where is the little dog? Is he all right?” We will probably always care about him, and some of us will be transformed by what he did.

Chileans have a new hero: an apparently homeless dog that pulled the body of another dog through traffic off a busy highway.
A surveillance camera on a Santiago freeway captured images of a dog trotting past speeding cars to pull the lifeless body of the other canine, which had been run over by a vehicle, away from traffic and onto the median strip.
The scene was broadcast by Chilean television stations and then posted on Web sites such as YouTube. com, and hundreds of thousands of people had viewed versions of it by Monday.
Highway crews removed both the dead and live dogs from the median strip of the Vespucio Norte Highway shortly after the Dec. 4 incident. But the rescuer dog ran away.
Authorities say images of the rescue prompted some people to call and offer to adopt the dog, but neither highway workers nor a television crew could find they animal.
“These images seen from the surveillance cameras show a very common situation with our overpopulated highways. It is normal for us to see dogs run over. In the video, we can see this dog fighting for his life because he was run over by the vehicle. What is very touching is to see the very heroic actions of this other dog who is trying to pull him to the side of the highway. We are going to keep seeing things like this until we find a solution to the dogs living on the streets.”
